Who’s My Neighbor?
March 6, 2007
The dictionary says “a person who lives near another”..but then it goes on to say “one’s fellow human being”. Where do you draw the line between a neighbor and someone else? In all truth, there should be no line..
One teacher of the law asked Jesus “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied with the story of the good Samaritan. Who was the neighbor? “The one who had mercy on him [the man in need].” Your neighbor is anyone — especially someone who is in need, who is broken, who needs your help.
