My Desire

August 10, 2006

In a way, my eyes were opened,
a scene lay crystal clear before,
and in it lay, or lay upon,
a maiden of virtue white

She looked at me, standing there,
in all of my earthly attire,
“Thou shouldst livest thou life by God’s on will,”
“His will should be thy deep desire.”

I paused and reflected,
upon these words of clean, fresh truth,
then set I off in search of this,
to find my heart’s one pure desire.
